IRVING, Texas — For the second week in a row, South Dakota State 197-pounder Tanner Sloan has been selected as the Big 12 Conference Wrestler of the Week.

A senior from Alburnett, Iowa, Sloan earned his most recent award Tuesday after winning by fall over eighth-ranked Rocky Elam of Missouri in Feb. 18 dual action at Frost Arena. With the victory, Sloan improved to 18-1 overall and stayed unbeaten in duals this season at 13-0. He extended his overall dual winning streak to 38 matches, dating back to early in the 2021-22 season, and upped his career record to 104-21 (62-4 in duals).

The national runner-up at 197 pounds a year ago, Sloan is currently ranked fourth in his weight class by FloWrestling and fifth by InterMat. The Jackrabbits close out the regular season by hosting rival North Dakota State in dual action at 2 p.m. Sunday.
