In the beginning of December while the Redfield Chapter attended Regions in Watertown, we participated in a service project of making birthday bags to bring back to our communities to donate. The regional meeting had 11 different schools attending. Each chapter signed up to bring supplies for the birthday bags.
The bags consisted of cake mix, frosting, streamers, napkins, plates, silverware, birthday candles, tablecloth, and birthday hats. Members in attendance were able to decorate the bags for their supplies to go into, along with a generic birthday card to go inside.

Our goal between all chapters was to put together 40-50 bags to be split between us all. We were able to make 54 bags in total. Region officers brought them to their communities to donate. Our chapter was able to donate a total of 11 birthday bags to our local Good Samaritan Center to be delivered throughout the year to families and individuals in our community.
Along with donating we donated 140 mini banana bread loafs to go into the Good Samaritans Center Christmas baskets. We were able to have 103 families and 37 individuals to receive these. Ms. McCarthy’s Fundamental Foods students and FCCLA members baked them throughout the day and tirelessly peeled bananas and got them ready for our community.
