3rd Annual Tree Contest

Posted

The Best Christmas Tree Contest has been held annually since 2021. The 2023 contest sponsor was Haider Construction. Entries were accepted on the Redfield Press website from Dec. 15th to Dec. 25th. Photos on the site were voted on Dec. 26th to Jan. 1st. Voting was accessible to anyone.
Bette Gruenwald has won Redfield Press’s 2023 Christmas tree photo contest with 85% of the votes. She was awarded $50 in Chamber Bucks, to be spent at local businesses.  Gruenwald decorated the balsam fir-style tree in “regular Christmas colors.”
Gruenwald said that she likes to “go all-out" decorating for Christmas time. Decorating her tree without help, she said that she can be “picky” and it can be “best to just let me do it myself.” Gruenwald recollects when her grandchildren were younger, they would call her Christmas-decorated house “magical.”
Gruenwald retired from working in a dental clinic office. She and her husband live in Redfield. They have a son in Redfield, a daughter in Brandon, and 4 grandchildren. They have 1 cat.
