National Honor Society inducted eleven new members on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The chapter now has a total of twenty-three members.
In order to apply for NHS, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and must be willing to complete twenty-five community service hours, with five of those hours being mentor hours.
On the application, students fill out categories that include; school involvement, community activity, leadership positions, and co-curricular activities. Students are also asked to answer two essay questions pertaining to themselves.
After students complete the application, they turn it in to Mrs. Stadel who has a board of teachers review students’ applications and determine whether or not they meet the pillars of NHS: character, scholarship, leadership and service.
The students selected by the board of teachers were inducted at 6:00 PM in the school lunchroom.
Following the ceremony, the NHS members and their families enjoyed a buffet line of  food served by Leo’s Good Food.
