A festive, appreciative crowd gathered for the annual Parade of Lights. Because of the unseasonably warm weather, many people walked around without coats on. Several people stood around fire pits.
Chamber Director Kim Leonhardt wrote the following recap.
Main Street Redfield was dazzling with brilliant lights and festive cheer on Sat., Dec. 7th, as the Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Parade of Lights Celebration. Downtown Redfield was filled with spectators enjoying the holiday scene of sparkling lights. Mild December weather and portable propane campfire rings were popular among the attendees. There were approximately 20 total parade units, including firetrucks, Snow Queens, the Grinch, Disney Frozen characters, creatively decorated floats, and special guest appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Many Main St. businesses were open for shopping, and also hosted hot cocoa bars for parade fans to enjoy.
A special thank you to all that participated in the parade and registered for the float decorating contest. The creative designs, animations, and holiday themes were amazing! The Best of Show prize went to Agtegra with their theme The Grinch that Stole Christmas. The prize was a gift bag from the Redfield Chamer of Commerce office. The fantastic fireworks display sponsored by Chrystals Bar was a perfect finale to the memorable evening. Next years Parade of Lights celebration will be held on Sat., Dec. 6th, 2025.
