The whole neighborhood showed up. was how one attendee put it. On Sat., Dec. 7th, before and after the Parade of Lights, a benefit was held at Starters for Shari Harr. The bar and bowling alley, which was fully opened, was packed. People of all ages were in attendance.
Harrs daughters, who were on hand for the event, expressed gratitude on behalf of the family. They said that Harr was overwhelmed by the generosity. We appreciate the community standing by her. Its huge for her and the family. they said. Shari Harr was described as a person who does everything for everyone. Her daughters added that they were grateful that she had an army of people supporting her. Several people in the crowd were wearing blue shirts that said It doesnt take a brain surgeon to see that Shari is loved.
There was much happy chatter in the room. Several people remarked at the size of the crowd. The event included chance auctions, a live auction, and a free-will donation meal. Many items were donated for auction.
Harr was diagnosed with glioblastoma in the fall of 2023. This type of cancer affects the brain or spinal cord. Monies raised will go toward medical expenses.
