Cassandra Bottum, art teacher, said Fifth graders (11 year olds) are the age group that complete this project each year. There is a different theme each year. Students have to design a poster that represents the theme. They are not allowed to use words in the design. It can’t have any 3D attachmentsother than that they are able to use whatever materials they want to complete the poster. There are 3 students that place at the local level, and 1st place goes on to the state level. The main idea is to promote peace and a sense of community.
Lions Club president Brenda Stover said We are so proud of our kids, and of our educators who work so well with them. She explained that the Redfield Lions as a group decide the winners among the entries. She said that theyd been holding this contest for 15-20 years.
