Dairy Queen sweeps Pheasants

Redfield Dairy Queen scored a pair of one-run victories over the Redfield Pheasants, Thursday, June 20 in Redfield. Dairy Queen coach Kurt Permann said Isaac Dukes went the distance in the first game. Dairy Queen beat the Pheasants 4-3. “For a youngster, I thought that Isaac pitched a nice game. He gave up six hits and two walks and struck out four in the seven-inning contest.” Dukes improved his record to 1-1. Coach Permann said nobody had multiple hits in the game. “Tanner Clausen had a nice single and a big RBI in the fifth inning.” Eric Felderman and Sutton Masat pitched for the Pheasants. Nathan Binger had two hits. In the second game, Sam Heintzman went five and two-thirds innings to pick up the win as Dairy Queen defeated the Pheasants 2-1. Coach Perman said Heintzman is 1-0 for the season. “Sam threw a nice game, striking out seven.” Edgar Tovar picked up a save, pitching one and a third innings. Justin Downes had two hits and an RBI. Keith Jandel and Elliott Millar pitched for the Pheasants. Sutton Masat had a single and a double. Ethan Millar drove in the Pheasants’ lone run on a fielder’s choice. Dairy Queen is 6-3 for the season.
