As antisipation and excitment was building for Fridays homecoming game it was quickly taken away by a more prepared Deuel team. The Pheasants were unable to stop the passing attack by Deuel’s Lincoln Swenson, early in the first quarter. Swensons 30 yard TD pass to Trevor Cassels gave Deuel the early lead. However, the Pheasants answered right back with a TD run by quarterback Kyle Stover and a 2 point conversion run by Jake Baloun. The offensive battle proved to be to much for the Pheasants as Deuel began to pull away in the 2nd quarter. Lincoln Swenson lit up the field with a 30 yard TD pass to Trevor Cassels and a 20 yard TD run to increase their lead to 16. The Pheasants were held to scoreless 2nd quarter and gave up a safety deep in their own territory. After a quick regroup at half the Pheasants came out in the 3rd quarter looking for revenge but were denied as Deuel made a defensive statement. Deuel continued to put points on the board with 2 more TD runs by Swenson and Sawyer in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Although the final score does not reflect it, the Pheasants never gave up hope and were able to make some defensive stops of their own. Both Daniel Evans and Logan Arthurs were leading tacklers for the Pheasants, each having a total of 8. Nathen Wager and Jake Baloun also put up some impressive stats having 7 tackles each. With the tough loss at home the Pheasants will move to 0-3, while Deuel moves to 3-1 for the season.
