A total of 32 people volunteered to donate blood, and 27 were able to give during Hitchcock’s August 15th blood drive. Eight people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 35 products were collected. Two of the donors gave for their first time.
Paula Vanscharrel coordinated the drive. Space to hold the drive was provided at Hitchcock United Methodist Church.
On behalf of the patients who benefited, United Blood Services appreciates all the thoughtful people who volunteered to help others by giving of themselves.
Blood is for sharing; you have truly given the “Gift of Life.”
