During a special meeting of the Spink County Republicans held on Thursday, July 26, the members elected Larry Nielson of rural Tulare as their new Chairman.
Larry Nielson is a life long farmer residing on the family farm near Tulare with his Fiance Jeni and their (still at home) children Jackson, Harlee, and Mikael. He holds a BS in Mechanized Agriculture from SDSU.
Future Farmers of America must have activated the “defective” gene known as activism, as he has participated in many different organizations throughout the years. He currently serves as Subdivision 3 Director of Heartland Consumers Power District, Garfield Township Treasurer, Tulare Rural Fire Board President, Legislative Officer for ABATE of South Dakota, and serves on the national level Board of Directors of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation.
Other business conducted during the meeting was planning the annual Family Picnic and Golf Outing scheduled for Sunday, September 9th.
A business meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 16th beginning at 12:30 in Leo’s Good Food in Redfield.
