The Redfield Public School Superintendent, Randy Joyce, is going to be retiring at the end of June. The decision Joyce made to retire came rather unannounced at a school board meeting on June 5.
Joyce has been a Superintendant at the Redfield Public School for 12 years. Joyce has mentioned that possible plans to travel to Alaska could be in his future. “I hear it’s nice this time of year,” Joyce said. Besides traveling Joyce does not having any other plans as to what he would want to do for his retirement.
The Redfield School Board will be the ones making plans to replace Joyce. The Superintendant position does not fall under normal line of succession. Instead, the Redfield School Board goes through a normal application process. After interviewing numerous canadates, the Board will choose who is to become the new Redfield Public School Superintendant. This process can take many months. The School will probably be without a Superintendant at the start of the 2013-2014 school year. For the complete article see the 06-12-2013 issue.
