On Friday, March 22 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. the Redfield Kindergarten will be hosting their 2013-2014 Kindergarten screenings. The assessments will take place in the Kindergarten wing of the Redfield Public School.
The screenings are a basic assessment of a child’s readiness to be in Kindergarten, and whether or not he or she should be further tested and placed into the school’s preschool.
The assessment covers numerous avenues of learning and ability, including, visual memory, discriminative memory, hearing, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, vision, language, and more. Each child takes about 90 minutes to test.
The tests help teachers with their teaching styles and help parents decide if their child is ready for Kindergarten or if they should wait another year.
Parents will be separated from their child while the tests take place. Parents will be offered a place to relax with some treats.
