Geography Bee Held at Redfield School

Junior High Winners

The Redfield School held their annual Geography Bee on Friday, January 15 at the auditorium. During a championship tie breaking round, Savanah Sucor and Wile Harr were asked, “After the US and France, which island country generates the most power from nuclear energy?” Answer: Japan. Both students answered incorrectly so proceeded on to more questions, such as “Which small asian country is home to eight of the ten highest mountain peaks in the world?” Answer: Nepal.

Savanah will now take a written test that will be sent to the National Geography Board for competition.

Grade School Winners

The Redfield School held their annual Geography Bee on Friday, January 15 at the auditorium. The grade school competitors were also asked “After the US and France, which island country generates the most power from nuclear energy?” Answer: Japan. And, “Which Mediteranian country, located at the south end of the Balkan Peninsula, is Europe’s largest producer of cotton?” Answer: Greece.

In five rounds of overtime, Orman Fixsen took first place over Bryce Stephens.
