Redfield Dairy Queen pounded out 17 hits in winning the first game of a doubleheader, 14-1 against the Redfield Pheasants, Wednesday, June 6 in Redfield. Joel Osborn had a double and two singles, an RBI and two runs scored. Brent Osborn had a double and two singles. Justin Downes had a double and a single, four RBIs, and three runs scored. Rich Osborn had a double and a single, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Keith Gall had three hits and two RBIs. Coach Kurt Permann said the Pheasants committed four errors. “We had a lot of hits and scored a few runs on some misplays by the Pheasants.” Lonni Stover worked six innings to earn the win. Permann said it was a typical game for Stover. “Stoves walked no one while striking out four. He surrounded only four hits.” Brendan Hoellein pitched the final inning. Tommy Gregg took the loss for the Pheasants. Dairy Queen won the second game 9-1. Coach Permann said Justin Downes went the distance to earn his second win. “Downsey threw a nice game and gave up only an unearned run. He struck out nine in seven innings.” Downes had a double in the contest. Brent Osborn had three hits and three runs scored. Kerry Jackson had three hits and two RBIs. Coach Permann said Eric Felderman pitched for the Pheasants. “Six errors didn’t help his cause.” Felderman had two hits in the game. Ethan Millar had three hits for the Pheasants. Redfield Dairy Queen is 5-0 for the season. Dairy Queen will host Britton on June 18 at 6:30 and 8:30. Dairy Queen plays at Northville on June 21 with games at seven and nine.
