A bridal shower was held at the Community Center in Turton on Sat. for Brianna Troske, daughter of Bill and Pat Troske. She will marry Andrew Litz on June 29th at St. Michael's Parish in Sioux Falls.

Chuck and Sara Baldwin, Lockport, TX are spending a month vacation at the home of her parents, Irvin and Marjorie Troske. The ladies, along with Danette Zickrick, Pierre attended the shower for Brianna Troske on Sat.

Eunice Thome joined her daughter Marilyn Mason, Doland and sister Artys LaBrie, Conde for an extended trip to visit relatives. We will have a full report upon her return.

The regular volunteer mowing crew gathered on Tues June 11th and had the two Cemeteries in fine shape in a short order. Lunch prepared by Jim Becker was served and we Thank Glenn and Sharel Dix, Aberdeen for furnishing it. We will be mowing again on Thurs June 20th at 5:00 PM with a rain day of Fri. June 21st. This will have the Cemeteries spruced up for the annual St. John's Day Celebration on Sat Jun 22nd. We would like to remind folks that we would like to have the flowers not attached to the markers or in hangers, to be removed from the Cemetery by June 24th.

Heidi and Lee Sanderson from Lake Preston, SD were in Turton on Sunday Jun 9th for dinner at Bill & Myrna Syverson's. Heather, Garrett, & Emery Rahm joined them and all celebrated Lee's birthday.

Ralph and Karen George, Yakima, WA have visited relatives and friends in the Turton area a few days this week, and also spent time with her brother Jerry and Cleo Thelen at Pierre. They were Sat. afternoon callers of Richard Barrie.

Shane and Stephanie (Troske) Hagstrom had their baby daughter Hannah Kay baptized following the Sunday mass on June l6th with Father Mike Kelly officiating. Sponsors were Nathan Troske and Mr and Mrs Jason Moes, aunt and uncle. Sister Chloe, aunts and uncles and grandparents and great grandparents and friends attended a luncheon following at the Community Center.

Several from the local area attended the funeral services for Arvon Taylor, 70, in Conde on Thurs June 13th. He was well known in the area and a friend to many.

On Saturday evening, Bill and Myrna Syverson hosted an early Father's Day dinner. Joining them for a Mexican meal were Norbe Barrie, Frances Becker, Eunice Thome of Turton and Kay Britton from Groom, TX. Karen (Thelen) George from Yakima, WA stopped for a visit and dessert.

Paul, Joan, and Kate Becker left for Colorado on Wednesday after spending a few days with Paul's mother, Frances Becker. On Thursday, Jerry and Cleo Thelen and Karen Thelen George visited with Frances and Kay. On Friday Kay and Frances served an evening meal to Karen and Ralph George of Yakima, Washington, and Bill and Myrna Syverson. Kay, Frances, and Myrna Syverson joined Bonnie Becker and Ann Andrews on Sunday at the Aberdeen Community Theatre for the production of the play "Young Frankenstein".
