It came!!! Summer found us!! And did it ever with a vengeance. Where did Spring go to? I guess this is South Dakota and anything is possible when it comes to the weather. I just figured that because we do not live in a perfect world, we can not expect perfect weather. Got to love the changing of the seasons…blizzards (cold) and construction (the heat of summer). That is okay. At least as of this writing, we have not had any severe storms. I am so thankful for that!!
On June 15th and June 16th, the R-Bar will be having their 23rd Annual Bike/Poker Run. There will be a poker run, games (on the motorcycles) and all kinds of prizes. There will be a raffle for a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. On Friday, there is a silent auction from 7 PM until 9 PM. The proceeds from the silent auction will be going towards the Wounded Warriors (veterans that were wounded during war). On Friday, beginning around 5 PM, there will be a pig roast. There will be a free will donation with the money raised to benefit the Doland Fire Department. Friday night at 9 PM, enjoy the music of Christina and the Rem Boyz. Saturday when the poker run and bike games wind down, sit back and enjoy the music of Zwarte at 9 PM. There will be a $10.00 cover charge.
Mary and Anita Raile of Aberdeen spent from Sunday, May 27th forenoon until Tuesday evening, May 29th, with Lloyd and Dee Battest. Sunday evening, they attended the Memorial Day Services, etc, in Doland. Monday morning, they attended services in Wessington and the pot luck dinner. Tuesday, they all went to Sioux Falls, where Lloyd and Dee had doctors’ appointments. Mary and Anita returned to their home Tuesday evening on May 29th.
What a great time I had!!! I had the great opportunity to take care of my grandbaby this past weekend!! Spoil, spoil, SPOIL!!!!!!! (Tired, tired, tired)
