Mellette News - Drama and Booster Club to Present Play

An Open House Baby to be Shower will be held on Saturday, January 30 for Baby Boy, son of Kris and Kayla Sparling at the Northwestern United Methodist Church at 2pm. Grandparents to be are Don and Linda Stahl and Chuck and Nadine Sparling.
Northwestern Area Drama and Booster Club will present, “All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play” on Thursday, January 21 at 2:30pm. Appetizers and desserts will be served before the play at 2pm.
Vi Robertson is currently residing at the Aberdeen Health and Rehab as the result of a fall and injury recently at her home. Vi will remain there for a month of rehabilitation. On Thursday, January 15 a Lake Region Conference Boys Basketball game was played in Mellette. The Northwestern Wildcats won the game over Ipswich 55-30 with Michael Smith leading the Wildcats in scoring. He had 17 points and nine rebounds. Ipswich won the B game.
The Ipswich Girls Basketball team won over Northwestern in play the evening of Friday, January 15. During the Lake Region Conference game the Ipswich team had six 3-point field goals for the win. They remain undefeated at eight wins. Megan Peterson led Northwestern in the game with 20 points and 19 rebounds. Northwestern’s record is 9-2.
Moris Oberle of Black Hawk spent several days visiting at the home of his parents Ike and Eva Oberle and was glad to be home as they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on January 7.
Layle and Dolores Evans entertained the Morgan family on Sunday, December 27 and the Evans family on New Years Day at the Evans farm.
Marilyn Deloy has been hospitalized recently at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital for a series of tests and x-rays.
Harley Taylor, Duane Riedel and Rod Fouberg of Aberdeen were recent visitors and coffee guests at the Laura and Lester Dennis home.
Arden and Deanna Bendenagle of Frankfort were Friday afternoon visitors and coffee guests at the Laura and Lester Dennis home.
