After rescheduling due to winter weather in the area, the Spink County 4-H Board met to review the adjusted bids presented by two parties, The Lumberyard and L and H Construction. The Fair Board had requested specific bids from the two after the previous bid opening, feeling there was a need to have each company rebid the job following specific requirements.
As representatives of L and H construction waited President Jim Ellenson opened the new packets and presented them to the Board. Board members talked among themselves as they reviewed the bids and had few questions this time for L and H Construction, who had presented a bid outlining each of the materials they would use for the construction as well of the number of each. The Lumberyard bid was a bit briefer stating only that the cost was estimated according to the building described on the spec sheet and included all material, labor, taxes and clean-up.
After further discussion among the board regarding the finances it was moved by John Buchholz to accept the bid and seconded by Darla Knox. In a unanimous vote it was approved to accept the bid from The Lumberyard contingent upon signature of a specified contract.
