Marlyn Leo Brown, 87, of Redfield, SD, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Avantara Redfield. 

   Marlyn was born at home December 17, 1935, to Leo N. and Myrtle E. (Corkins) Brown, joining sister Darleen in Redfield, SD. 

   He attended school and graduated from Redfield High School.  After graduation, he enlisted and served four years in the United States Navy.  After he was honorably discharged, he returned to Redfield.  He then attended Stewarts School of Cosmetology in Aberdeen, SD.

   In 1960, he married Nancy Robinson of Frankfort, SD and moved to Casper, WY.  To this union, four children were born:  Laurie Lee in 1961, Marla Jo in 1962, James Louis in 1964, and Shelly Jean in 1966.  The couple later divorced.  Nancy and the children moved to California and Marlyn stayed in Casper. 

   Marlyn is survived by his sister Darleen Mangan of Redfield; children: Laurie, Marla, and James of California; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren of California and Colorado; along with many cousins. 

   He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Myrtle, daughter Shelly, a great-grandson, and all his aunts and uncles.

   Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
