Lonnie Marvin Rose, 56, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on June 23, 2023 at North Memorial Hospital of Minneapolis. A Celebration of Life will be from 2-4 p.m. on July 29, 2023 at the Redfield American Legion. The family will have a private burial.  

   Lonnie was born in Redfield, SD to Francis and Mavis (Steiner) Rose on May 8th, 1967. He graduated from Redfield High School in Redfield, SD in 1985.    

After graduation, Lonnie attended Doane College in Crete, NE for 2 ½ years. He worked in retail for several companies including Disney World in Florida, Target and Macy’s in Minneapolis, as well as several part time jobs once his health began to decline. Lonnie was a member of the UCC church in Minneapolis. He was an avid reader and collector of many things. Lonnie was also a Twins fan and was able to work at many of the games over the years.

   Lonnie began battling cancer in 1986 when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and again in 2006 with Colon cancer followed by heart disease. He was facing another heart surgery when his health quickly declined before his passing.

   Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Mavis Rose, and his sister Maxine Rogers. He is survived by his siblings, Gerri (Bob) Schutte, Wayne (Deb) Rose, Jeff (Nancy) Rose, Roger (Becky Vander Plaats) Rose, brother-in-law Phillip Rogers, 13 nieces and nephews, and special friends Kevin Combs and Donald Oney.
